First, a game. Every rule below comes two ways: one real, one ridiculous. Tap the one you think is real. The actual terms and privacy policy are further down.
The real clauses above are the plain-language version of what's below. By using Words Among Us you agree to these terms.
The actual terms

1. Acceptance. Words Among Us ("the Site") is provided by Digital High Status. By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
2. The games. The games are free and provided "as is" for entertainment. We may add, change, pause, or remove games and features at any time.
3. No account; your scores. No account or login is required. Your scores, streaks, and settings are stored only in your own browser (local storage) on your device. Clearing your browser data erases them.
4. Acceptable use. Don't attempt to hack, disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or misuse the Site, and don't use it for any unlawful purpose.
5. Intellectual property. The Site, its games, design, and content are owned by Digital High Status and protected by applicable law. You're free to share your own scores and "brag" cards.
6. No warranty. We work to keep the Site fun and available, but can't guarantee it will always be online, accurate, or error-free. It is provided without warranties of any kind.
7. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Digital High Status is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site.
8. Changes. We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.

Privacy policy
The short version: no account needed, we don't sell your personal data, and your scores stay on your device. We use standard analytics (and, in time, ads) to keep the games free, and here's exactly what that means.
What we collect. You don't give us personal information to play. Your scores, streaks, and settings live in your browser's local storage on your device, not sent to us. To understand and improve the Site, we use analytics that collect standard, largely anonymous data: pages visited, time on site, device and browser type, and approximate (city-level) location derived from your IP address. If you use the contact form, you provide your name, email, and message so we can reply.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure traffic and see which games people enjoy. Google Analytics uses cookies; Cloudflare Web Analytics does not. This helps us improve the Site and verify our traffic.
Advertising. To keep every game free, we may show ads. Advertising partners may use cookies or similar technology to show more relevant ads and measure their performance. We keep ads unobtrusive and never let them get in the way of play.
Cookies. We use cookies and local storage for three things: remembering your scores and settings (local storage), analytics (Google Analytics), and, where applicable, advertising. You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time and the games still work.
Third parties. We rely on Google (Analytics), Cloudflare (hosting, CDN, and privacy-friendly analytics), and advertising partners, each of which handles data under its own privacy policy. We self-host our fonts, so those load no third parties. We do not sell your personal information.
Children. The Site is for general audiences and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices. Clear your browser storage to remove your scores; block or delete cookies in your browser; and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. Where required, we'll show a cookie-consent notice you can manage.
Changes. We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change.
